Pretend Play is a very important part of a child’s education.
The imagination is a powerful tool which as we know is innate in some children but needs encouraging in others.

At Little Pearls Preschool when the child engages in pretend (or dramatic) play, he is actively experimenting with the social and emotional roles of life. Through cooperative play, he learns how to take turns, share responsibility, and creatively problem-solve.

At Little Pearls Preschool the educators believe that pretend play helps the child understand the power of language. In addition, by pretend playing with others, he learns that words give him the means to re -enact a story or organize play. This process helps the child to make the connection between spoken and written language — a skill that will later help him learn to read. At Little Pearls Preschool pretend play activities provides children with a variety of problems to solve. Whether it’s two children wanting to play the same role or searching for the just right material to make a roof for the playhouse, the children call upon important cognitive thinking skills that they will use in every aspect of their life, now and forever.Dramatic play experiences are some of the first ways children learn about their likes and dislikes, their interests, and their abilities. They experiment with role playing and work to make sense out of what they’ve observed. At Little Pearls Preschool lot of stories are re -created with children through pretend play using props, puppets costumes etc. At Little Pearls pretend or role play activities , stimulates the senses, creates opportunities for exploration and creative thinking, and helps the child to develop key skills vital for intellectual and emotional growth as well as social success.
