Newsletter for the Month of October 2017
The last day of October was the spookiest day but the happiest day as children were not only happy but also showed no sign of any anxiety or fear seeing pictures/dressups of ghosts etc.
Celebrations and Events.
October was a month of holidays, celebrations and events. Children had their fair share of fun and joy. The theme of the month was plants, the idea was to bring them closer to nature and make them understand the concept of living things. Their activities with plants and in the garden were really nice and the heartbreaking part was that the children are not used to it. Some were apprehensive about getting messy while some were curious to see nature. It is our humble request to encourage the children to use their five senses when you take them out. It will make them hands on, more open to experience new things and trust their instincts.
Regarding celebrations, Diwali celebration was fun. We were very happy to receive the delegation from the Chinese Embassy led by Dr. Jiang Yili. Parent-Teacher Meet gave an opportunity to parents to update themselves regarding the progress of their wards. It served as a platform for open communication and gave us feedback on parents’ expectations.
To culminate the topic of plants, children set up a fruit and vegetable market that was a real hit. The idea of setting up the market was-
- To familiarise children with various fruits and vegetables
- To teach them the concept of buying and selling
- To promote an experience of a lifeskill with parents.
We are looking forward to another month of curious minds and thought provoking questions. The topic would be “HOW THINGS GROW” . The whole theme is planned in a manner that the children experience things rather than study/are taught about it. We will be teaching them how plants, animals, mammals give birth and grow. If you, dear parents, need any help in answering any of their questions, please feel free to talk to us!!
