Newsletter for the Month of September 2017
The month of September was the month of wondering, learning mythology, exploring surroundings and asking questions.
Topic of the month Birds & Insects
The topic of the month was Birds & Insects and I felt it was very informative for children. Normally, children these days are not familiar with this form of life and due to limited outdoor play opportunities; they neither come across nor get an opportunity to learn about
them.
In sync with the topic, the following activities were done:
- Nature Walk
- Catching butterflies
- Catching insects in bugs bottle
- Watching insects and their habitats through magnifying glass
- Making nests and talking about how birds create it
- Hatching of Eggs (for senior classes)
- Different types, sizes of eggs
Needless to say, children loved these activities and it was amazing to hear their queries. It is my humble request to all parents to let children touch, feel, sand- mud, flowers etc all the nature and explore it. Encourage them to observe small little things and talk about it at
home. We tried doing the same at school and our classrooms were filled with questions, smiles and discussions.
Children also enjoyed mythological journey of Ramayana and were introduced to many characters of the Epic. The finale was celebration of Dussehra by burning effigies of Raavan, Kumbhkaran and Meghnath.
In the light of recent incidences of breach of safety & security measures in schools, we have formed Child Protection Policy and formed Parent Teacher Association . Our upgraded systems and measures taken further will be discussed with them and given to all of you.
We are looking forward to meet them on 7 th October 2017.
Also, to celebrate the month of festivities, we are organising Diwali Mela on Saturday, 14 th of October 2017 between 10:00 am -2: 00 pm. I would take this opportunity to invite you all to be a part of it and let’s celebrate the function like a family.
